Okay, while not everything in my life revolves around weddings, depending on which way you're looking at whatever it is that you're looking at, eventually ...and usually, some tie between me, what I'm doing and WEDDINGS will become evident. (Congratulations if you're still reading at this point. I think that even I might have lost track of myself on that one.)

Moving on. Last Sunday evening I had the pleasure of attending a Warrior's game in Oakland courtesy of...you guessed it...you're already ahead of me on this one....DAVE and LAUREN. Lauren and Dave are getting married at The Holly Farm this spring and I'm looking forward to what is sure to be an incredibly fun wedding weekend! As is visable in the cheesy photo above, Dave set us up with extremely killer seats. We could see sweat. It rocked.

Despite the fact that the Warrior's did not conclude their day in such a happy fashion, I had a phenomenal time and my friends had so much fun... especially the extreme Warrior's fan pictured in both Warrior's hat AND Warrior's t-shirt.
THANK YOU so much!

Wow!
The Holly Farm Receives 2009 Bride’s Choice Award

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that The Holly Farm has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!
In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means The Holly Farm is one of the very best ceremony and reception venues in the country.
Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews. “We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

I wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone that voted for The Holly Farm!
My family and I are truly touched by the amazing support that our clients, past and present, have shared with us.

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's the #1 engagement day of the YEAR and love is in the air.

We've been enjoying a beautiful wintry day the Farm giving tours to the many newly engaged couples that were determined enough to come down to Carmel over a busy Valentine's Day weekend. It also happens to be the big AT & T Pebble Beach Pro Am golf tournament. Apparently Bill Murray himself had breakfast a few hours before I ate lunch at a locals favorite restaurant about 2 miles down the road from The Holly Farm. Pretty cool!

Speaking of love, one of my all-time favorite bakers, Marina Souza, owner of Just Cake can be seen THIS SUNDAY February 15th @ 8pm on the Food Network. She is featured in the "Miley Cyrus - Sweet 16 cakes" Challenge. It will replay several times throughout next week as well. Enjoy... :)

Just Cake has been one of The Holly Farm's preferred vendors for many years now and guests never cease to RAVE about her cakes! My addiction is to her chocolate cake with mint cookies, cream and chocolate ganache. Yum. A most challenging aspect of working in the wedding biz is that I just have to sample the wedding cakes. Quality control, you know!?

Marina’s work has been featured in several magazines… including InStyle, Bride, Modern Bride, Weddings of Distinction, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style and People. Aside from being a bakery goddess, Marina is simply a warm and wonderful person. I smile every time she pulls up for a delivery at The Holly Farm.

Check her out for yourselves at http://www.justcake.com/

The wait is over!

Hello all, it's Erin at The Holly Farm signing on to our brand *NEW* Holly Farm blog.

Yee haw!

For those of you who know me (and my intimate fear of most things technologically based) this foray may seem a bit outside of my comfort zone. In fact, those words are serving as a strange sort of mantra as I sit here typing away at this very moment. Yep, and this moment too.

Why then, you ask (or more probably, not...but isn't this the point of a blog???), have I chosen to brave this grand new frontier? While huffing away on the treadmill at the gym last night, I perused a quote in an extremely outdated "O Magazine" which made reference to avoiding procrastion. It resonated.

Here we are, here I am. I hope that I will be able to share some of the wonderful day-to-day that we are fortunate enough to experience as the result of YOUR lives and special moments intersecting with our little piece of Carmel Valley. (And I hope to be able to rememeber our password so that this won't be our only entry. Hee hee!)

Welcome.
